Monthly Income Report for December 2015
December 2015 Income Report
Monthly Earnings Report:Every month I am going to lay out my income report. This is to reflect the success and failures I experience using the methods I blog about.
I have three source of income:
Every year I make it a point to work as hard as I can as an entertainer during the holiday season. That means I make around 15% of my total income in this one month. This translates to a lot of working, a lot. I did sixteen shows this month. For a full time professional that is a lot.
Because that is a lot I have ZERO time for marketing. I don’t book anything during the month of December. I have never in the past and I don’t plan to try to in the future. December is usually the worst month to try to book events. The people who do book events are worried about their end of year party, business, numbers, family, etc. Booking events in December falls to the back burner. So this month I can report $0 booked and feel really good about it. Remember I am not sharing how much I made but how much I booked.
Unless I hear a large amount of request I am only going to publish my profit and not my revenue. This month, after bills and costs, I pocketed $53000.00 this month at the shop. After rent, cost, advertisements, paying myself and filling the shop I made $2078.00 profit.
That isn’t much larger than last months. If you are wondering why its because gold and silver took a deep plunge last month. My shop makes 25% of its profits off buying and melting scrap gold. With the bullion market dropping people are less prone to sale their scrap jewelry. On top of that you have to add all the people who would normally buy bullion scaled back. The drop in the bullion market frightened them (which is of course WHEN you should invest, but that’s a conversation for another time). I made more profit than last month (not by much).
That is what happens though in the coin/gold/pawn industry.
This will be of the biggest interest to readers.
Wow. When the month started I was worried. I had two big clients fizzle out on me and my other revenue sources were lagging. I was afraid I was going to post my smallest number yet. Then something happened.
I had been sending out proposals when I caught the eye of an online marketing firm. They saw the work I was producing through Upwork and wanted to talk. I opened up a line of conversation with them and landed their work.
After that I caught fire because I landed a ghost writing gig and an email campaign. I was pumped and surprised! I have to remember that this is how the online world of revenue works. It is easy to go from sprinting to dead to sprinting again.
I try to keep in mind that the market for my work is limitless (and it is). My main concern, and it is a good lesson learned, is that I need to keep a steady focus on pitching to the right clients and blogs.
By the end of the month I had totaled over $1850 in online earnings this month!
December was my reminder month.
My online work reminded me what I need to do to keep making money and secure greater wealth. My numbers are up from last month overall. My shop numbers might stay down the next couple months depending on how the silver and gold market do.
My bookings will go up in the next couple of months, or at least they would if I wasn’t scaling back that operation. That’s right I am transitioning out of the entertainment world? Why? I want to focus more on increasing my online revenues, growing my audience and working more with copywriting, SEO and selling e-commerce products.
I love entertaining and I will continue to serve my market and clients but I am done expanding to new markets as an entertainer. I am blessed to have done everything i’ve wanted to do as an entertainer. My next step is to grow elsewhere.
So what was my big win this month?
My big win this month was seeing how easy it can be to turn your online earnings around. 2015 was my year to learn. I learned how to build a blog, how to guest post, how to WP, how to copywrite, how to Upwork and so much more.
2016 will be a year I continue to learn. I plan to leverage what I have learned and crank up my income and goals. You’ll see an ultimate guide coming from me soon along with some other amazing content and a dedicated page where I will share books I have learned from with reader’s notes.
I am looking forward to 2016! I plan on doing some major growing on my side of the screen to help all of you.
Things to look forward to in 2016
